When Action Day Primary Plus invited me to prepare their 50 Years Celebration, I was very excited!

The party would take place at La Riconada Country Club – a beautiful club at Los Gatos, California.  I had already produced an event for one of the owners, so that I knew that they have great taste and open minds to new ideas.

My first insight was to produce something colorful to represent all the ages that kids attended to the school: from daycare to kindergarten. The idea was to bring school elements such as paintbrushes, pencils, rules, toys to life as décor and also as decorated desserts.

The backdrop was designed by Lili N Class. She created a chalkboard backdrop with many drawings that resemble school life and childhood. She also designed all the food tags with delicate details on the back (something that I love about her work, is her detailed oriented style).

Over the dessert table we created an enchanted world of learning through paintbrush cake pops displayed either in a rainbow or in colored painting box, and chocolate Crayons.

Edible cake books with Nutella filling, were distributed over a real book. They had traditional covers such as The Little Prince, ABC and Numbers.

In order to bring the ludic atmosphere to this event, we made Radio Flyer wagons and their toys as little cakes. Crayola crayon boxes were also mini cakes.

Cookies also had their own personality: some of them shaped like notebook with kids drawings, and other ones no less elaborated were pencils, rules, school bags, apples, pencil and the Action Day logo.

The Action Day Logo was also represented in little red fruit truffles wearing school t-shirt

Two cakes – one with two stores and other one as a fairy tale book – were served to the guests during this special night.

In addition, we also had Amarula and Tequila Brigadeiros, ahcoolic version of this chocolate ball.

Lemon and Dark chocolate truffles were dressed with Truffilio truffle wrappers and were displayed in beautiful trays and in a Radio Flyer wagon.

Macarons were also served for the guests: either shaped like an apple or in little party favor boxes with  Action Day`s logo.

To create a beautiful finishing to the dessert table, we decided to go with a colorful balloon garland that my dear Lili N Class put together. In this case, we do not have little kids in the party so the balloon garland brought the ludic atmosphere to the décor with charm and style. She also made a backdrop for photos .

As I always loved to learn, it was a pleasure to prepare a beautiful event to celebrate life and learn.

Cheers to great minds!
