When we decided to celebrate our twin’s 6th birthday with Star Wars theme, we had in mind cute books that my husband bought for the twins. The books pictured Darth Vader doing his best to look after his twins Luke and Leia.
Almost everything was ready when the Pandemic hit US in 2020 and we had to postpone the party. As an issue always brings an opportunity, I used my little free time to watch the Star Wars movies and get familiar with all spaceships and movie characters.
To bring this party to life, I invited my friend Carolina – from Mint Event Design – to decorate the kid’s table and create a beautiful balloon arc.
BB8 and Tie Fighter were chocolate truffles; Storm Trooper and Darth Vader were chocolate & Nutella. Macarons and brigadeiros were also dressed up for the event. A honey loaf scenario displayed Dart Vader and the twins – using royal icing, I draw the same mat they had in their first room back in California.
The cake was so extraordinary that people from other parties came to see and take pictures: it had a small projector inside so our R2D2 was displaying Leia’s message like in the real movie.
